INITIALISE is hiring – Four open positions
We are seeking for innovative candidates to our new INITIALISE project in Turku, Finland. This is a Horizon Europe project focusing on inflammation in human early life and targeting impacts on life-course health, with a total budget of 6,86M EUR during six years.

What is INITIALISE all about?
INITIALISE is an EU-funded project that aims to elucidate how exposures and genome impact gut microbiome, host immune system and metabolism, and how the interplay of these factors impact life-course health. INITIALISE aims to define the role of the maturation of the immune system as a mediator between exposures and life-course health.

- Senior Researcher/ Post-doctoral Researcher in Computational Systems Biology
Key tasks: Genome-scale metabolic modelling and integration of multi-omics data (exposomics, genomics, shotgun metagenomics, single-cell omics, proteomics, metabolomics) in the context of health and disease.

- Senior Researchers/Post-doctoral Researcher in Multi-omics Data Analysis
Key tasks: Application of statistical including machine learning methods for analysis of multi-omics data (exposomics, genomics, shotgun metagenomics, single-cell omics, proteomics, metabolomics) in the context of health and disease.

Key tasks: Fluxomics studies in immune cell cultures, with focus on impacts of various exposures (environmental chemicals, microbial metabolites) on immune cell function.

What we offer
Our positions are fixed-term for minimum of 36 months, with a possibility for an eventual extension.
Salaried positions in the University of Turku, Finland automatically include payments to a pension fund, unemployment funds, an extensive occupational healthcare, affordable sports services and even a holiday allowance. All these positions belong to the personnel group of teaching and research personnel with the exception of Laboratory Engineer / Research technician, which belongs to other university personnel. All positions have flexible working possibilities as we support a work-life balance.
