INITIALISE Featured in University of Valencia Science Park Video
Our project has been featured in a new video produced by EuroPark, an initiative of the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV).
The video includes our consortium partner IATA-CSIC’s Dr. Maria Carmen Collado, who leads the Lactic Acid Bacteria and Probiotics group. She spoke about the group’s contribution to INITIALISE, including the expertise and human microbiome data it provides to the project’s research on immune system maturation in early life.
In the interview, Dr. Collado spoke about INITIALISE, Horizon Europe project studying how early-life exposures shape immune system development and long-term health. She explained why the first months and years of life are such a critical window for the immune system. The project is working to identify which factors influence that development and later disease risk, including environmental exposures, genetics, and the gut microbiota.
