INITIALISE Contribution at the International Breast Cancer Prevention Conference
Breast Cancer UK’s second Breast Cancer Prevention Conference took place at Middlesex University (London, UK) on the 10–11 June 2025.
The INITIALISE project contributed to the International Breast Cancer Prevention Conference through a presentation delivered by Peng Liu, Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen, a consortium partner in the project.
His talk, entitled “POC: Prenatal Exposure to PM2.5-Bound Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals on Human Fetal Mammary Development,” examined the potential effects of air pollution–associated endocrine-disrupting chemicals on fetal mammary gland development.
The research addresses how prenatal environmental exposures may influence early developmental processes and long-term disease risk, aligning with the scientific objectives of INITIALISE in understanding early-life exposure mechanisms.
