On 5–6 June 2025, the Paris Kids Cancer International Symposium – Development of the Immune System During Embryogenesis and Childhood: Dysregulation and Lessons for Pediatric Cancers was held at Institut Imagine in Paris, France. The international symposium organised Paris Kids Cancer reserach center brought together international experts to discuss early-life immune system development and its dysregulation in paediatric diseases, including cancer.

Professor Jonny Ludvigsson (Linköping University) represented the INITIALISE project by delivering an oral presentation entitled “The Influence of Genetics on the Gut Microbiome.” The talk examined how host genetics influence gut microbiome composition and its role in immune system development, including relevance to paediatric disease.

This conference presentation contributed to the dissemination of project-related research and supported engagement with the international scientific community.
