Johnny Ludvigsson

Professor Ludvigsson has been a professor of Pediatrics at Linköping University since 1985. He has researched Type 1 diabetes (T1D) since the 1960's, mainly focusing on three areas: Immune interventions, complications and etiology. Professor Ludvigsson created the ABIS (All Babies in Southeast Sweden) cohort in 1997. ABIS is a birth cohort that still follows 17 000 individuals with regular questionnaires and biological samples, with studies on T1D, autoimmune/immune mediated diseases, but also ASD/ADHD etc. Professor Ludvigsson will contribute to INITIALISE with research competence and with the ABIS cohort (register data, selected biological samples, knowledge on studies of immune system, of gut microbiome etc) connected to several national registers."
